Hi!

I made a little stick-figure drawing of Sun Salutation C (called Surya Namaskar C in Sanskrit). I give a copy to my yoga students, and thought I’d share it with you. It’s easy to forget what we learn in yoga class, and I hope this is an easy visual for you to follow. Feel free to print it up & pass it around!

Click on the image, and you can see the page in it’s entirety….it’s also easier to print it out that way.

peace, stacy

When that pain in your butt is LITERALLY a pain in your butt, Thai Yoga Therapy can bring some serious relief to those suffering from sciatica. Gentle stretching, herbal compresses and relaxation can work wonders for the screaming pain that can run down your entire leg!

To help keep the benefits going between appointments, I found a few videos that demonstrate some yoga postures that you can practice at home. Spend a little time daily, or at least a few times a week, and I think you will experience great improvement!

“Legs Up The Wall” is a great pose to reduce blood pressure, and I love the way this teacher uses bolsters and blankets to give your back a slight arch…very restorative!

I really like Esther from Yogatic…she has plenty of fantastic yoga videos. Her Yoga for Sciatica (pt. 2) is no exception:

**I just want to note, that before you try any yoga poses, please check with your doctor! I am in no way prescribing a treatment that I think will “cure” your sciatica…just offering what I think might help you out a bit!

with metta,

Steamy, herbal balls of joy…that’s how I like to refer to Thai herbal compresses {also called Luk Pra Kob}! They have more than 12 different types of herbs, flowers and roots which are all wrapped up in fabric. The compresses are steamed until they are hot and then used as part of a Thai bodywork session. They are absolutely heavenly when placed at the base of your neck, or pressed along sore muscles. Both the aroma and the heat from the herbs can be beneficial…and they feel especially nice on a cold winter’s day!

I buy mine from Lom Love in Denver…I have tried a few different kinds, and like theirs the best!

Let me know if you are interested, and I will include them in any 90 minute session.
